This project was created solely by Texas State University Mass Comm and Journalism graduate students to fulfill the requirements for the Advanced Online Media course during the Spring of 2009.

Meet the team-

choon Choon Hwang is a graduate student in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Texas State University. Choon became a news photojournalist (or camera guy) after college, but it did not take long for him to find his favorite subject, the Internet. Choon is an active member of the Asian American Journalists Association. He looks forward to meeting new and interesting people.


Lewis Lewis Knight is a graduate student in the School of Journalism and Mass Communications and has over 30 years of experience in the media industry. He is semi-retired and owns Caffeinated Media, PaintBrush Productions and Knight Line Productions. Lewis is currently the president of the SJMC grad club, a TA in the Mass Communications department and also teaches an Advertising course. He will be moving on to pursue a doctoral degree in Journalism at the University of Texas in the Fall of 2009. Some of Lewis' hobbies are traveling, cooking, reading, writing, movies, music and golf. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and children and is highly involved with his church.


Chris Chris Troutman is a Mass Comm graduate student, writer, elections specialist, Austin Tetris finalist guy, SXTXState.com design team lead along with BeerTownAustin.com publisher and editor. Likes: Wife/Kim, Disc golf, good beer, music, political media coverage, homebrewing(beer), NPR, Mac, Austin, The Wire, Wordpress, Thai food, The Draught House, The New York Times,Google, Flight of the Conchords, Freebirds World Burrito! Jon Jon Zmikly is a recent graduate of Texas State University-San Marcos’s new media master’s program. He has a background in broadcast media and has interned at SXSW Interactive in Austin, TX. Jon will be teaching two web design classes and working at his church part-time in the Fall. He really likes 80s music and playing Sega Genesis, but his real passion lies in the world of knots.
